I was introduced to acupuncture by my own need for healing. At the time, I had a stressful working environment which led to tension headaches. I was taking classes at the Rochester Tai Chi Center (Tai Chi is a moving meditation) as well as workshops on acupressure, meditation and energy movement. So, when someone suggested I try acupuncture for my tension headaches, I was familiar with the Eastern philosophy of body/mind/spirit medicine and open to the suggestion.

I left my first acupuncture appointment more relaxed than I had ever been in my life and felt that I had been led there for more than relief of my headaches. I felt that I had found what I was called to do in life. I knew it would be very rewarding to help others relax and to heal as I had been healed.

I made a commitment to this goal and went back to school to attain the requirements for entry to acupuncture school. I then attended the International Institute of Chinese Medicine in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to obtain my Master's Degree in Oriental Medicine. This was a four-year program with a two-year internship. In 2001, I returned to Rochester and opened a private practice.

I am licensed in New York State and certified as a Diplomate in Oriental Medicine by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).

The study and practice of acupuncture is an on-going process. Towards that end, I participate in continuing education. I have also been trained in Dr. Tan's Balance Method of acupuncture and Level I Reiki. In addition, I work to educate people about the benefits of acupuncture by giving presentations in the community.

I utilize the experience and training that I have acquired to offer effective treatments in a healing environment. I have reached my goal of helping others to heal in the way that I was helped at the beginning.
